What is the From Anxiety to Freedom Group All About?
(Courses are done on Zoom for the duration of Covid-19 for your safety)
These classes are focused on helping you heal your anxiety and go on from there to train in how to be deliberately happy and to grow a life of your choice, with ongoing support if you want it. They are not a complete treatment; such treatment almost always includes individual therapy as well and these classes are focused on experiencing and training in specific techniques as an aid in recovery from anxiety and panic attacks that usually take too much time to cover effectively in your sessions. I developed this 5 week Course to assist in the individual treatment I was already giving anxiety sufferers.
For those who want to be able to use them, you can take the classes alone while not having a therapist if I feel it is safe for you to do so. If your anxiety is severe it is quite possible that a combination of individual therapy and the Course is the best option.
We’ll meet once a week on Zoom. Each group of participants are different and I focus on the needs of each individual as much as possible. I also encourage participants to connect and help each other and connecting outside the classes via Zoom or any other safe (Covid protection) way you wish to grow helping relationships.
There are several forms of fee payment that give you various benefits and choices and I share them with you prior to the Course so you can choose what you want. Fees must be paid in advance.
WEEK ONE OF OUR GROUP
In this week we will get to know each other a bit and we will go over what you can expect in the group. We will also cover group guidelines so we can learn and grow in safety.
WEEK TWO OF OUR GROUP - BREATHWORK
This powerful, deep breath training helps you process the pent-up intensity you’ve been carrying so it moves through you rather than triggering your anxiety. I will explain why breathwork is important and how anxiety and breathing seems to operate in most people. This technique will be a powerful aid to you in coping with anxiety or panic attacks and will continue to be very helpful once you’ve spent the time and effort to learn it.
WEEK THREE OF OUR GROUP - MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
Here you can learn how to quiet the mind and relax and be just in the now. It’s a way to gradually calm all the obsessive voices you may have had racing through your mind and help the health of your body. As the body and mind gradually calm and relax your mind is free to become more creative without all the obsessive emotions and thoughts that may have hamstrung you until now. That’s the base from which we can help your creativity flower.
WEEK FOUR OF OUR GROUP - POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING AND FEELING
What you think is what you get. Learn to do it on purpose. There is increasing evidence in Positive Psychology, Law of Attraction and Quantum Physics that we in fact are much more powerful than we as a culture have believed and that we are actually creating our lives much more than we ever imagined. This is NOT to be used to feel self-blame, you did not create your anxiety or the things you are now experiencing that you don’t like on purpose and you cannot take blame for what you did not know. The good news is that if this is true you can, with help, learn and practice this information enough to gradually steer your life in the way you want to.
WEEK FIVE OF OUR GROUP - NEXT STEPS
This week we will review and practice the tools you have learned in previous weeks. We will also take stock of where you are now and look at what you’d like to do next. You can’t master these techniques in 5 weeks, and Wayfinders is committed to making sure you only move forward from here. Every participant will be able to talk with Philip and determine how we can further support you in your journey.
